Laura Ramaciotti is President of the Conference of Italian University Rectors (CRUI) since September 2025 and Rector of the University of Ferrara for the 2021–2027 term.
She has been CRUI Budget Delegate since 2023 and a member of its Executive Committee since 2024.
She is a Full Professor of Applied Economics in the Department of Economics and Management, which she led from 2018 to 2021.
She serves on the Monitoring Committee for the Emilia-Romagna Regional Operational Programme (ROP) of the European Social Fund (ESF) and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
She was Vice-President of the Italian Association of University Incubators and Business Plan Competitions (PNI Cube) from 2017 to 2022, and President of the Futuro in Ricerca Consortium from 2016 to 2022.
She was Pro Vice-Chancellor for the Third Mission and Territorial Relations and a member of the University Quality Presidium (2015–2018), and previously Pro Vice-Chancellor for Technology Transfer (2008–2010).
She was an expert member of the CRUI Foundation’s Observatory on the Valorisation of Research (2014–2018) and a member of the Scientific Committee of the European Association for Technology Transfer and the Valorisation of Public Research (ASTP-Proton) (2015–2019).
She also served on the Board of Directors of the National Association Network for the Valorisation of Public Research (NETVAL) from 2010 to 2016.
Her research focuses on policies for public research and the Third Mission, the economics of science, Open Science dynamics, intellectual property, and innovative entrepreneurship.
